If you haven’t noticed already, we are passionate about the outdoors! But maybe you are not. Sure, with all those crawly bugs and wild animals, what is there to like? Unfortunately, too many people just don’t understand the need for the outdoors. Well, the outdoors likes you even if you don’t like them.
Good for the Brain
Time spent outdoors boosts concentration (even in those with ADHD), improves creative thinking, decreases negative thinking and stress, and can even wake you up as well as a cup of coffee. And all for free! That is about the best medical plan one should know.
More Exercise
Being outdoors usually means you are walking, exploring, wandering, doing something! Regular activity and exercise make it easier to maintain a healthy weight or lose a few pounds. And of course exercise is so good for your body beyond weight. Many people would find exercise more enjoyable when it is outside doing something fun rather than the endless treadmill jog.
Unstructured Play Time
Kids need unstructured time to explore, build, dig, get their hands dirty, run, and laugh. Adults need it too, although sometimes we won’t admit it. Outdoors is the perfect place to explore and get creative.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D can be found in some food but our bodies make it with what? Sunshine! So get on outside.
It is Just Fun!
There is just a little something for everyone in the outdoors. You can take it slow or look for some adventure! You can connect with family and friends or take a solitary walk and enjoy the sights.
A vigorous five-mile walk will do more good for an unhappy but otherwise healthy adult than all the medicine and psychology in the world. — Paul Dudley White
If you don’t like the outdoors, you just haven’t found the right activity for you. Let us help you have a new outdoor experience, dip your toes in the outdoor waters so to speak. With all the benefits of the outdoors, it is not just a hobby but a necessity for a full and healthy life.
So What’s Keeping You Inside
Between computers, phones, TV, and games, kids get an average 7 hours per day of screen time. That is a lot of hours. And adults aren’t any better since many jobs require heavy computer use. Couple this with the fact that only 50% of kids get outside everyday with a parent. That is bad news for kids and parents everywhere.
